Three-leg Stool

Sugar Maple

While studying at the Appalachian Center for Craft, we were given an assignment to design a three-leg stool inspired by the designs of American furniture maker Wharton Esherick.  This design takes the hard lines and gentle curves found in the seats Esherick’s stools and uses this language on the legs and stretchers as well.

Wedged tenons at leg / stretcher joint
